Anna Awanawaack, da oltre 15 anni esponente italiano della danza e cultura waacking, alla quale approccia dal 2010 assieme al mondo ballroom, di cui è una delle trailblazer italiane, lanciando una sfida in un momento storico preciso, in una scena europea maschiocentrica. La sua forza è la costanza ininterrotta e la dedizione a queste culture, con un importante contributo alla loro diffusione e all’inserimento pratico di decine e decine di persone nelle due scene. Oggi è attiva sotto tutti i punti di vista, organizzativo, didattico e artistico, con forte attenzione all’evoluzione naturale di queste culture queer e alle nuove esigenze di una scena sempre più matura e consapevole.

Anna Awanawaack has been a prominent figure in the Italian Waacking dance scene and culture for over 15 years. She began her journey in 2010, embracing both Waacking and the Ballroom scene, becoming one of Italy’s pioneering trailblazers in the latter and challenging the male-dominated European scene at a pivotal moment in its history. Her greatest strengths lie in her unwavering consistency and dedication to these cultures. She has made a significant contribution to their growth and development, helping introduce and actively integrate countless individuals into both communities. Today, she remains deeply involved in every aspect of these scenes, from event organization and education to artistic expression, with a strong focus on the natural evolution of these queer cultures and the emerging needs of an increasingly mature and conscious community.
